Diversity and Inclusion
Our Policy?
We will be our own little village teaming with nationalities from across the globe
Representation from at least a dozen countries
A significant percentage of solo travelers
A good variety of age ranges (children to retirees)
A range of socioeconomic backgrounds
(due to the broad price range of residences)
All major religions and political affiliations represented
Several LGBTQ owners
People of varying abilities
Our Staff:
Eternal is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy and related conditions, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status or any other basis covered by appropriate law). All employment is decided based on qualifications, merit and business need.
About our crew:
We anticipate the crew working onboard to come from all over the world with the largest nationalities represented being the Philippines, Eastern European countries and India. Crew on ships generally need to have a level of physical ability to pass the training course for the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
Families and Children
( It takes a village to raise a child )
Child-friendly facilities such as games and learning rooms are included within the ship’s design and as well as regular children’s activities. We expect to have enough children of all ages sufficient to ensure they too have a social group and friends with whom to make memories.
Youth education programs will be offered in association with an online distance education program. In addition to formal education, children will have the opportunity to learn about the world with over 50+ countries to explore each year. When not in activities, we do ask that parents remain active in supervision
Community Laws & HOA
Are there laws in the community?
The relevant laws apply to the country of the Malta, the flag we are under. The flag of the ship represents the nationality of the ship, and therefore the ship is under the control of the registered country. Based on the ship’s flag, we must comply with international and maritime laws of the registered country in the open sea. That being said, USA residents may use the USA based maritime law and most maritime law is related to USA law.
When sailing, the law of the sea stipulates that maritime countries essentially control their territorial waters from the shore out to a distance of 12 miles (19.3 km), the “12-mile limit.” With respect to crimes committed in these areas, the laws of the country owning the vessel or structure upon which the crime has been committed hold sway.
Will there be a Homeowners Association?
There will be a similar structure of an HOA in place where residents can get involved with the steering committee to shape the community bylaws. It will continue to evolve before and after sailing. There will also be sub-committees of special interest groups.
What authority does the operator have versus authority vested in HOA?
The HOA reports to the operator which has the ultimate authority.
What vetting & screening process does Storylines do to ensure people onboard are of good character?
We conduct background checks such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) for financials and confirming identification. No serious offenses that involve harming other people such as fraud, child offenses, sexual offenders, etc. Evaluations are on a case by case basis to ensure that all members of the community are of good standing.
Short-term guests are by invitation only from a resident who can vouch for their character and are therefore accepted without the usual vetting process. 3-4 weeks’ notice is required for overnight guests. Long-term renters (3 months+) are subject to background checks. All residents and guests pass through security to board the vessel
Will you have a brig onboard and how do you plan to govern and contain people?
Security at Sea falls under the domain of the Chief Security Officer, who is in charge of the Security patrol teams onboard. This includes running the gangway operations for the ship, liaising with port security, conducting investigations onboard, and “keeping the peace” at all times by following comprehensive security protocols, both at port and at sea. Highly trained security personnel are on call 24/7.
Every ship sailing to or from the U.S. must have at least one crewmember onboard specifically trained in crime prevention, detention, and reporting. The Chief Security Officer (usually known as SECO) reports directly to the executive management (Captain/Staff Captain).
Volunteering in CreatingYour Residential Community
Please reach out to us and tell us how you would like to be involved; all those who wish to help are encouraged to take an active role in their residential community.
Single Resident Owners
Other similar ventures have about 20% of residents who are solo travelers. Singles specific social events will be held on board and ashore.
Living Aboard Full-Time and Citizenship Status
Living aboard MV Narrative full-time does not affect your residency nor your citizenship status. It also does not affect your ability to spend time in your home country. Residency and citizenship are two separate things, and the only way to lose citizenship is to formally renounce it. Some expats seek residency/citizenship in a new country. MV Narrative does not provide a permanent residential address onboard and it does not provide residency or citizenship in any country. If you are planning on living on board full-time and are in need of an address, we suggest using a mailbox service or family member’s address.
Medical
Health Insurance and Medical Costs
Medicare Coverage
Will the ship be registered as a Medicare approved facility?
Cruise ship medical facilities must adhere to the standards set by the American College of Emergency Physicians. The ACEP guidelines dictate that the infirmary must contain the proper equipment to handle a range of treatments and diagnostics. Storylines will meet all required registrations related to any Medicare services covered on the ship.
However, “The U.S. government does not provide medical insurance for U.S. citizens overseas. We do not pay medical bills. You should purchase insurance before you travel. Please review the country information page regarding the country you are visiting before you travel.” See Travel.State.gov for additional information about insurance providers for overseas coverage.
Where does Medicare cover me?
Medicare will cover you in the U.S. and U.S. territories including:
The 48 contiguous states
Alaska and Hawaii
The District of Columbia
Puerto Rico
The U.S. Virgin Islands
Guam
American Samoa
The Northern Mariana Islands
Medicare may also cover you in Canada if you’re traveling between Alaska and another state when you have a medical emergency and the Canadian hospital is closer than the nearest U.S. hospital that can treat you.
Does Medicare cover me on a cruise ship outside the U.S.?
Medicare will generally cover you on a cruise ship under the following conditions:
The doctor treating you is allowed to provide medical services on a cruise ship
The cruise ship is in a U.S. port
The cruise ship is no more than six hours away from a U.S. port when you receive the medical services, even if they are emergency services
If you receive medical services more than six hours away from a U.S. port, Medicare will generally not cover you.
How can I get medical coverage on a cruise ship?
If you have Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) you can enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan to help you pay your Medicare out-of-pocket expenses. Medicare Supplement plans C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, M and N generally cover foreign travel emergency care during the first 60 days of your trip. Once you meet a $250 deductible for the year, the Medicare Supplement plan may pay up to 80% of the charges for medically necessary emergency care outside of the U.S., including care on a cruise ship.
In general, Medicare and Medicaid do not cover medical costs overseas, please check this website.
Health Insurance
Have a look at...
www.worldexpathealth.com
Medical Costs
What is included with the annual assessment fees?
An annual checkup will be included. Any abnormal findings that require treatment by a dentist or physician may have a surcharge.
What is health care going to cost me when I’m living abroad if my current health insurance policy won’t cover me?
While we do not have medical services pricing onboard the ship determined at this point, we want our community to know that we are here to nurture and care for each individual. Health and wellness are paramount to the Eternal experience. Regarding medical costs on the ship, our goal is to provide the best possible care at the most affordable rates possible. Some of our medical services will be included but where we incur costs, those costs will be passed on to residents and guests.
Regarding medical costs off the ship, it is important to know that medical care outside of the United States is much more affordable. Many ex-pats pay for health services out-of-pocket because they receive excellent care abroad at an excellent price. It is important to have a health insurance policy in the USA because of the extremely high costs of receiving medical care in that country. We urge you to research medical tourism and ex-pats and we think you will find that health insurance is mostly necessary for emergency situations when residing outside the US.
Children and Pregnancy
Are there any age restrictions for infants and kids onboard?
Children must be two years of age or older to sail with us. The ship’s facilities are not equipped to medically assist and support conditions that might affect babies under two.
PLEASE NOTE: a similar situation applies to expectant mothers. MV Narrative is not equipped to properly support and assist pregnant women. Sailing during this period is not advised.
Prescriptions and Medications
Will I be able to fill my prescriptions onboard and get OTC supplements such as vitamins, laxatives, incontinence supplies, eye drops, CPAP supplies, etc.?
Yes, we will have a well-stocked pharmacy that will also have high grade supplementation and compounding capabilities. Certain medications will be overstocked for prevention.
Will the ship be periodically surveying residents for current medications to ensure they are available on board?
Yes, but more so each resident will ensure they have submitted their required pharmacy needs to Storylines and ensure they have at least 3 months’ supply on-hand to give the ship adequate time to stock any uncommon medications.
Will we be able to provide a list of our regular meds so the ship can keep them in stock since it will be hard to get mail with refills?
Yes, any specialty prescriptions will be given to the medical steward at least 6-12 months before departure.
Do we get prescription renewals from the practitioner back in our home country or would a ship doctor take control of those prescriptions?
These would be preferentially be done remotely via the patients’ prescribing physician and if needed through the physician overseeing the ship’s pharmacy.
Will the medical staff prescribe and provide narcotics, i.e. opioids?
These drugs will only be available in minimal quantities and prescribed only in emergency or extreme cases treated intravenously in the infirmary.
How much will my medication cost on board? Does the onboard pharmacy accept insurance?
The pricing for all medications will be dependent on what our medical partner Vikand sources. We anticipate the costs to be significantly less than USA retail prices, and more comparable to prices in Australia and Canada. The onboard pharmacy does not bill your insurance provider but can provide a receipt if you wish to submit a claim for reimbursement. In that case, you would need to confirm that your plan covers external pharmacies outside of your state/country. Another option it to have your prescription medicine filled by the mail order pharmacy that your health insurance plan partners with. These will often approve 3 months of refills to be mailed to you quarterly.
How useful was this post?
Retail Pharmacy
Are there plans for a retail pharmacy?
Yes, the general store will have this in our retail spaces.
Medical Treatments & Services
Our Medical faciclity offers a full-service clinic on board including medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists and physiotherapists. As these services will be provided by a third party, they are outside of the annual fees.
A range of additional services will also be available such as weight loss, anti-aging, Botox, immune therapies, detoxification treatments and dietary planning.
I understand the practices of complementary medicine, functional medicine, integrative medicine, naturopathic medicine and holistic medicine. For a patient that is more familiar with western medicine, what can they expect that might be different when you are their primary care physician?
A combined approach with more focus on the prevention of disease, increased vitality and quality of life using functional tests including genomics, diet, nutrition, exercise, mental and emotional support, nutraceuticals, hormonal replacement and removing toxins, specifically heavy metals.
Will I be able to get my annual wellness check on board?
Yes. Annual exams are included in your annual assessments while certain labs, treatments and supplements are available at a cost.
Can oral health, hearing and vision care specialists be brought onboard periodically for services needed?
Yes, we will be bringing medical professionals onboard that are generally only available in land based facilities, except where specialized equipment is necessary. We cannot guarantee these specialists will be part of your health insurance network, but keep in mind that out of pocket medical care in other countries costs much less than the United States.
Will medical staff be able to recommend local medical providers in ports for services and/or medications not available on board? Yes, Storylines has an ongoing project to identify a) main medical treatment facilities and specialists in all ports, and b) accessory non-emergency professionals. These professionals may in some cases also be invited onto the ship to give lectures and some treatments.
What contingencies are there if a resident is on an apparatus (i.e., oxygen) that requires electricity and the ship has an electrical outage.
The ship will have backup power in any case of loss of power, and the infirmary will also have a dedicated standalone backup power source.
Will residents be charged for basic first aid needs i.e., bandages, aspirin, masks, canes, knee braces?
In the case of non-critical injuries that require a trip to the infirmary, supplies used to render care including the use of crutches, splints and wheelchairs will be provided by Eternal. Ordinary supplies for home use will be available in the ship’s pharmacy and market.
What priorities and/or privileges will residents receive over transient guests?
Residents have a designated appointment schedule and take precedence over guests. The only exception would be in an emergency.
Will the medical staff visit individual residence for assessment and treatment?
Most medical and health services, treatments and testing will be mobile and when possible combined with other related services, for example medication delivery + X-ray + vitamin IV.
Does the ship provide travel indicated immunizations?
The ship will have a Travel Safety department that will provide information on each area and the current risks. Immunizations will be available, costs of which have not yet been determined. Each resident is also encouraged to consult with their primary physician before boarding to not only ensure optimal use of their existing insurance, but to assess the risk-benefit of immunization to their medical conditions. We will also have the most recent Covid-19 vaccinations on board.
If I have a medical emergency while the ship is in port and I’m ashore, or if I have an emergency on the ship and need to be moved to the closest medical care facility, what, if any, support will the Storylines medical staff provide or coordinate? For example, if we are in Africa and I’m out on safari and I break a leg or have chest pains and there are no local medical providers, who will help me get back to the ship for treatment and care?
We are a family: if one of our residents has an emergency off or on the ship, our Medical Advocacy program will assist. This could be a fellow resident or a designated member of our medical staff on-call to accompany the resident, facilitate safe transport and communicate to all relevant medical staff.
What are the main roles of the medical team?
Our medical team will not only work toward helping patients maintain wellness and quality of life, but will have expertise in stabilizing seriously ill patients, ability to perform advanced life support practices, emergency cardiovascular care and minor surgical procedures.
What additional roles will be expected?
The medical team will be able to perform regular health checks, diagnostic testing and proactive therapeutic interventions. They are also involved in the evacuation of seriously sick or injured patients.
What is the medical team ultimately responsible for?
The medical team is responsible for the care and well-being of all passengers and employees of the ship. They will have a dual reporting structure, reporting directly to the ship’s Captain and the resident’s primary care provider when appropriate.
What kind of cases will the medical team be able to treat and care for?
Non-urgent general care for heart disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions; emergency medicine for acute coronary syndromes; cardiac and respiratory failure; infection processes; anaphylaxis; trauma and orthopedic injuries.
Will Storylines medical staff have access to my online medical history when making diagnoses or determining treatment plans? (MY CHART or LUCY for example)
Yes. Each resident will need to give permission to Storylines to access any on-land EMR systems and should also submit any paper records and lab results which we will upload to our EMR system. All information will also be accessible to a resident’s land-based medical provider.
Storylines Medical Facilities & Equipment
What will the ship’s medical center be like?
The facilities will be similar to most small, acute care clinics on land.
What will these facilities include?
They will include intensive care units (ICU), treatment & examination rooms and a dedicated isolation and infection control area.
What type of accreditation will the medical area have?
The medical areas will be accredited to international healthcare quality standards and certified to ISO standards to meet or exceed the American College of Emergency Physicians. You can review these guidelines at the ACEP website.
What will the standard equipment be?
This includes wheelchairs, a stretcher, back board for spine immobilization, lab capabilities for standard blood & urine tests, oxygen, EKG, defibrillators, cardiac monitors and other equipment to gauge vital signs. Mobile units will also allow the medical team to provide care and testing in the comfort of staterooms.
Assisted Living, Palliative & Hospice Care
Will the medical staff provide specialty services including assisted living services, palliative and/or hospice care?
While the ship is not intended to be an assisted living facility, it does offer many of the same amenities such as prepared meals, room service, entertainment, ADA accessibility, housekeeping, laundry services and onboard physicians. However, it is most suitable for active people who enjoy travel and have good cognitive function.
Long-term residents of Storylines who are still highly functional (meaning thinking, eating and walking) may have access to additional personal care (fees apply); to be determined on a case-by-case basis. Just as with land based assisted living, if residents become acutely ill or get to the point where they need a higher level of care and Storylines were unable to assist, then they will need to get a live-in caregiver or move to a more qualified facility. While Storylines is not a good option for people who require palliative or hospice care, individuals who wish for a peaceful end-of-life transition should speak with the onboard doctor to make a future plan.
Death at Sea
The ship has a small capacity morgue and is subject to all laws and regulations including the Death on the High Seas Act. Options related to transport of the remains will be available to each family member or executor.
Burial at sea
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), ‘The Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA) general permit authorizes the transportation and burial at sea of non-cremated and cremated human remains in ocean waters under specified conditions.’ For more information, please visit the EPA website.
Are cremation services available on the ship if a resident were to pass away?
Cremation cannot be on the ship although there will be a morgue for the remains. The remains would then be transported to their country of residence or cremated on shore as directed by the estate/family.
Medical Team & Responsibilities
The medical team includes should include 2 Doctors and 2 Nurses(When staffing we will to to hire 1 Male and 1 Female of each)
Will one of the Storyline doctors be available to be designated as my primary care physician?
Yes
What qualifications does the medical team possess?
Medical personnel working on the ship meet or exceed American College of Emergency Physicians standards and have proven proficiency in preventative care, general practice and emergency medicine.
What are the main roles of the medical team?
The medical team not only work toward helping patients maintain wellness and quality of life, but also have expertise in stabilizing seriously ill patients with the ability to perform advanced life support practices, emergency cardiovascular care and minor surgical procedures.
What additional roles are expected?
The medical team is able to perform regular health checks, diagnostic testing and proactive therapeutic interventions. They are also involved in the evacuation of seriously sick or injured patients.
What is the medical team ultimately responsible for?
The medical team is responsible for the care and well-being of all passengers and employees of the ship. They have a dual reporting structure, reporting directly to the ship’s Captain and the resident’s primary care provider when appropriate.
What kind of cases will the medical team be able to treat and care for?

Will the medical staff have access to my online medical history when making diagnoses or determining treatment plans? (MY CHART or LUCY for example)
Yes. Each resident will need to give permission to Storylines to access any on-land EMR systems and should also submit any paper records and lab results which we will upload to our EMR system. All information will also be accessible to a resident’s land-based medical provider.

Upgrades
You can Upgrade your cabin to a higher class at anytime all you have to do is pay the additional room cost plus sign a new contract for the additional maintenance fee/month
Downgrading is OK as well but the maintenance fee will not reprice to the lower price until one month has gone by after your move. The cabin owner will receive the actual cost difference only once the cabin has been sold.
There could be some special items on the main menu that will incur an additional fee. Example. If the average cost for us to produce the main coarse for dinner each night is $10 per meal per person. We then source some Wagyu beef and it costs us $20 to produce each meal using this product then the cost to you would be ($20-$10)+30%=$13
If you want your room cleaned more than the twice a week
If you want extra bags of laundry washes on top of the 2 bags per week
Alcoholic beverages. Beers and Wines(Cost =30%) Basic Spirits $5 Cocktails will be based on what spirits the contain. Example Long Island Iced Tea 5*half nips =$12.50 will be one of the most expensive cocktails
There will be a drink package option which will be $40/day for a single occupancy or $70/day if you are a double.
Most day spa activities but we will run regular promotions (costs will be nothing like a regular cruise line)
Hair cuts
Any private trainer sessions
Onboard Activities
It is probably a bit cliche to say but You can do as much or as little as you want.
We will have all the obvious ones like the pool, sun lounging, shows, enrichment talks, entertainers in the bars, card games, the biggest assortment of boardgames there has ever been on a cruise ship, movies, fitness classes, dance classes and off coarse karaoke.
The ship does not currently have a sports court but we are going to get 2 pickleball courts( the sport almost anyone can play ) and 2 basketball half courts on there.
We will also have a Dungeons and Dragons club. Who's ready to go slay some Orcish hoards?
A 3D printing and modelling center.
In our Business Center we will have a multitude of High end gaming PCs, XBox Series Xs, and Playstation 5s that can be played online but we will also be running regular LAN games nights because lets face it, who is not sick of being killed by 12 year olds that play online 10 hours day? It is so much more fun claiming victory over 12 people sitting in the same room and then going and having a beer talking about how close it was to going the other way and because it is a sea day tomorrow deciding to have another round because no one has to get up and go to work the next day anyway.
A LEGO building area with millions of bricks and hundreds of sets for young and young at heart. Building LEGO has been shown to stimulate mental health, delay symptoms of early onset age related mental diseases and help children on the spectrum with both social interaction and mental development.
We will have a display walk where we can display our prized collectables and thing we have created for all to see ( Think an art gallery but things we have created or collected )
Maybe we will call it the Fajo Collection ( A little inside joke for all you Star Trek Fans)
Got More Ideas for clubs, If enough people like it we will make it happen.
Excursions
Shore Landings
Once we are underway we will look to acquire a small fleet of Zodiacs and portable pontoons to ferry passengers to remote beaches and various snorkelling and diving spots
Shore Excursions
With upto1000 residents aboard, imagine the lifetime of activities and experiences you will discover together.
At each port we will offer a comprehensive range of new excursions, immersions and activities from independent, local tour operators – taking you deeper into the heart of local life with exclusive events and activities. Offshore Ventures – Returning to the Ship
Should you venture solo in any destination, we will help prepare you. Disembark provided with translations of instructions for how to return to the vessel, direct-dial numbers to reach our friendly onboard team in case of emergencies or any assistance you may need.
Additionally, all residents will be issued an identification card that includes a photo and serves as onboard identification.
Missed Departures
If you miss a departure at any port due to unforeseen circumstances, immediately contact our onboard staff at the number shown on your shipboard ID as we may be able to delay departure if it is a dock that is not too busy or if it is a tender port.
If the ship can not stay and wait the staff will inform you of the location and arrival time at the next port and can assist you in making arrangements for meeting the ship at the next port of call.
Ownership
While you are not actually buying a room you are legally leasing it under a "right to occupy" agreement.
The ship will have 2 primary "ownership" models
10 Years
20 Years to life of Vessel
Residents will have 6 months to upgrade to the life of vessel option otherwise they will have to sell the remainder of their 10 year deal and purchase the life of vessel deal at whatever the market rate is at the time. Your time will start when you board the vessel or 3 Months after payment whichever occurs first.
Passengers will also have the option to purchase half and even quarter yearly shares in the 20 years to life of Vessel System.
The units are fully inheritable to future estates and beneficiaries, or may be sold at any time. Should you choose to sell your residence, our team will provide sales and marketing assistance to maximize the sale price. As residence availability is limited, it is entirely possible the market value will increase over time. We will have a dedicated sales agents onboard to assist with all sales and renting out etc. We will charge 3% on sales done by our team and 1% on sales done by owners. Renting out your unit will also incur a fee similar to agents renting out a house.
Monthly Fees
We will break this into 2 parts.
The room "ownership" fee ( based on room size, window or balcony )
This covers you part of the costs to run the cruise ship whether you are on it or not.
Things like fuel, maintenance, staff, pilot fees, fees to enter ports, insurances, ship registration costs etc.
Resort fee ( equal cost for everybody )
This covers the costs incurred for having each person onboard.
Food, laundry, housekeeping, per person port taxes etc

In the Event of Visa Denial
Denial of visas is a rare occurrence when applications are completed correctly, and our expert team will always be available to provide full assistance. In the unfortunate event of visa entry denial for a specific country, you can naturally enjoy the leisure of the vessel and rest up for the next adventure.

Yes we are a startup and yes we need investors to make this dream happen.
All Invertors will get the first choice of rooms and Cruiser Numbers ( No 1 is already taken )
Timing: Once we have enough committed investors with signed contracts we will enter into negotiations for the purchase of the cruise ship (currently the ex. Celestyal Crystal). During this time we will ask investors to transfer funds to a escrow account for the ships purchase and to also go towards other start up and minor refurbishment costs
What do I get for investing in Eternal Cruises?
For a $1,000,000 investment you will get a $100,000 towards the cost of your room plus your first 4 months of sailing will be on us for 2 people (maintenance and resort fees)
